Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Are sun awnings suitable for all locations?

Sun awnings are suitable for a wide range of domestic and commercial applications provided there is enough space to house the cassette unit and no other obstacles will be in the way of the awnings path as it opens. In addition to this, it is essential that the structure used to support the awning is capable of taking its weight.

If you are fixing to brickwork, it is recommended that there be a minimum of 300mm of brickwork above the awning fixing points to prevent the awning pulling the top of the wall over.

Manual AwningsOperated via a crank handle, manually operated sun awnings are ideal for occasional use or in locations where there is no power source available to automatically operate it.

Installing a retractable sun awning is relatively simple so long as you follow the manufacturers installation instructions and have the correct tools available to carry out the job in a safe and timely manner. We recommend that at least 2 people carry out installation so as to make the job that much easier.
